Our Commitment to Sustainability
To monitor our sustainability efforts, we created an Internal Sustainability Strategy to help us track the influence of our activities on the environment and reduce our environmental impact. The participants' mobility behavior accounts for the lion's share of an event's CO2 emissions. Enabling and encouraging participants to choose low emission transport options is a main lever to reduce our event's environmental impact.
Therefore, we invite you to plan your trip to the Energy Challenge Days as soon as possible and explore low-emission travel options. Some possibilities for reducing your flight emissions include:
- Avoiding unnecessary stopovers
- Preferring large aircraft over regional planes
- Avoiding business class travel
- Choosing airports with good public transportation connections
We are encouraging our participants to calculate the emissions of their trips to our event. To make this easy, the NGO atmosfair offers a tool that allows you to calculate the CO2 emissions of your trip. You can also choose to fund one of their compensation projects to offset your carbon footprint.
